CF Ontario Announces the 2019 Recipient of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award
September 16, 2019 – Kapuskasing, ON
Today, Community Futures Ontario (CF Ontario) is pleased to announce Fromagerie Kapuskoise as the recipient of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award honoured at the 26th Annual CF Ontario Conference in London, Ontario (this year held in partnership with EconoUs).
Fromagerie Kapuskoise, owned by youth entrepreneur, François Nadeau, specializes in the production of artisan cheese, inspired by France – making the Fromagerie one of its kind in Kapuskasing, Ontario.
Mr. Nadeau saw an opportunity to be innovative and offer a product not found locally. His vision became a reality as he went from farmer markets to having two distributers, multiple resellers and attending the Royal Agriculture Winter Fair. Local restaurants and independent grocers carry Nadeau’s cheeses and have benefitted from their partnership with him. His partnership with a local goat farmer –and a local bakery - who create products to pair with his cheeses - inspires local business while creating employment opportunities.
Congratulations Fromagerie Kapuskoise and thank you to North Claybelt Community Futures Development Corporation for nominating them!
The Community Futures Program is a Canadian government funded program facilitating rural economic development. Each year, they recognize excellence in three categories: Entrepreneur of the Year, Innovation, and Community Economic Development.
